Kingsdale Vanier is a mature residential area nestled in the west corner of Highway 8 and the expressway. The southern and western boundaries are Fairway Rd. and Courtland. Expressway and 401 access is excellent. Kingsdale is very well covered by public transit including the LRT which runs along its south east flank.

This is an affordable neighbourhood with a concentration of large apartment buildings in the south end. While much of the area is detached homes, there are low rise apartments, town houses and condos throughout. There’s a fair amount of commercial space on the borders on the main arterial roads. A Dare cookie plant on Kingsway smells quite heavenly.

Kingsdale housing dates from the early 50s into the early 1970s for the most part. Detached properties are smaller bungalows, sidesplits and 1 ½ storey homes. Newer developments are typircally apartment style condos or townhouses. Semis can be found here as well.

There’s plenty to see and do along Fairway Rd. with lots of choice for groceries. Fairview mall is a big draw. Wilson Pk., the community centre and Active Sportsplex are great for active kids. There’s nearby Chicopee and Rockway Golf Course too. McLennan Park is just a few minutes away.
