Rockway is an older central neighbourhood in Kitchener well known for its golf course and beautiful gardens. It sits just north of the bend in the expressway by Courtland, bounded by King and Ottawa. Access to the 401 and expressway makes for easy commuting and the area is also served by the LRT if you want to go car free.

Rockway golf course is the biggest draw recreation-wise but there are plenty of other choices including the Aud, Chicopee, Fairview Mall and all the activities available downtown. There is no shortage for groceries either, including the usual big chains ans smaller specialty stores as well. Schools sit just on the edge of the neighbourhood with the exception of the Catholic high school, St. Mary’s, located on Homer Watson south of the expressway.

Rockway is dominated by the golf course with residential properties making up the bulk of the construction. The section around Ottawa is a combination of commercial, residential and light industrial. Home styles are a mix of 1 ½ and 2 storeys dating from the 1940s and slightly newer bungalows and side splits as new as the late 50s and early 60s. There are some smaller rental buildings in and amongst detached properties the southern portion of the area.

If you are a golfer who wants easy access to the highway, downtown and shopping, Rockway can’t be beat. The older homes nearest the golf course are beautiful and complement the golf lifestyle perfectly.
