Lakeshore is a mature Waterloo neighbourhood in the north central area of the city south of Northfield and west of King. Lakeshore is convenient for commuting via Northfield or King and the expressway. The 401 is 25 minutes away despite the northern location. The suburb is well connected by public transit. Taking the LRT couldn’t be easier as the train runs right through the neighbourhood.

The development is mostly single detached homes in the west end, dating from the mid sixties and seventies. The portions closer to Albert and Weber are a mix of housing types including low rise rental apartments and town houses. The Parkdale portion of Lakeshore sits on the south east side of the area.

There are numerous local schools in the area for your children to attend. And there’s plenty of choice for groceries. Conestoga Mall is a minute away and the Northfield Sobeys is even closer. Rim Park, Laurel Creek, Waterloo Park and the St. Jacobs Farmers market are great nearby attractions.

Lakeshore has tons of mature trees, wide quiet streets and good sized lots due to its relative maturity. If you’re looking for an affordable family friendly neighbourhood definitely give this one a thought.
