The mature Westmount neighbourhood straddles the border of Kitchener and Waterloo. A large chunk of Westmount is taken up by the beautiful golf course of the same name. Westmount real estate is a mix of urban and suburban styles.

The core area to the east dates from the early 1920’s, with properties getting newer and more suburban as you look west. The overall neighbourhood is almost entirely single family homes with a small scattering of apartments and townhomes.

If you want urban living you’ll be well served in old Westmount. The LRT and uptown Waterloo are easily walkable for shopping, entertainment and dining out. Homes here are mostly two storeys sitting close to the street on relatively good sized lots. Belmont Village is part of this section as well. The areas closer to Westmount Rd. have some spectacular homes.

Bungalows were built in Westmount starting from the late 1950’s. The smaller ones are an affordable way to get into this neighbourhood. Bigger and newer bungalows can be found, along with side splits and two storeys, in the quiet suburban area north of the golf course and just across Westmount Rd.

Homes around the golf course are in high demand. This is a beautiful area with a lot of prestigious and distinctly upscale homes. It’s not uncommon to see extensive renovations or even tear-downs and rebuilds here, and in Westmount overall. This is the hallmark of a healthy neighbourhood.

There are good local schools, and lots of shopping, entertainment and recreational choices as well. The Westmount neighbourhood has it all.
