Stanley Park is a mature Kitchener suburb just to the northeast of the expressway and highway 8. Fergus and Old Chicopee make up the southeast borders of the neighbourhood. Several bus routes cover the area with the LRT stopping across King at Fairview Mall. Stanley Park has great expressway access and it’s perfect for commuting.

The north end has a fair number of larger apartment buildings and the south end along Weber is commercial. There are a few condo developments on Holborn that are somewhat newer than the bulk of the neighbourhood. But most of Stanley Park is single family homes. The oldest homes I’ve come across would be in and around the war era located in the south end. Newer stuff was built from the mid 50s into the mid seventies with not much in the way of anything newer. War era homes are 1 ½ storey with siding. The 50s homes are mostly brick bungalows and 1 ½ storeys. The newer homes are a mix of 2 storey, bungalow and side splits, often half and half siding and brick.

For things to do there’s the downtown, Bingemans across Victoria, the Stanley Park Conservation Area, the Auditorium and Chicopee. There’s golf at Rockway. You’ve got Stanley Park and Frederick malls, and the Fairway Rd strip for shopping as well.
